My Great Plains move was smooth from start to finish. The estimate from Jared was accurate and the coordinators could not have been more friendly. The packers itemized everything and were very careful with my furniture and items, including an antique and one large painting. The guys on the moving crew were great -- on-time, polite, and super hardworking. Marty and Monday were the absolute best and I knew my stuff was in good hands! Everything arrived on time and in good condition. I've moved a lot and know moving can be stressful for some families, but I had a great experience and would absolutely use Great Plains again!

CAUTION: ALLIED VAN LINES, COMPASS VAN LINES, NORTH AMERICAN VAN LINES, AND GREAT PLAINS MOVING AND STORAGE ARE ALL THE SAME COMPANY. I have had just about the worst experience imaginable with my move across the country. If the Colorado Springs office team had not done such a good job, I would definitely give 1 star. Lisa, the estimator, was great. She was on time, thorough, and gave us a fair price to move our household goods and vehicles. We even made changes to the number of vehicles, and which vehicles we were shipping due to COVID-19, and she adjusted our estimate accordingly. From there, our move coordinator, Teresa, got involved, and she was also great. She gave us as much information as she could at all times, and adjusted our delivery dates as needed, when the closing of our house was pushed back. My real issue is with the people who packed, moved, and delivered my household goods. The crew that came out was sloppy, lazy, and couldn't have cared less about my stuff. They threw random things in boxes with no rhyme or reason, didn't wrap up most of my furniture, including mattresses, even though it would be in storage for at least a month, and as a result, many things were lost and broken. They "lost" my ladder, MY AR-15 RIFLE, hardware to my kids' trampoline, a new Sam's Club pack of paper towel, and random tools of mine. They damaged our ottoman, my bed, and destroyed my daughter's play kitchen. They didn't properly place the barrel restraining bolts in my washing machine, so the spider was destroyed upon arrival. They even packed a deep fryer, still full of cooking oil, in a half-filled box on top of a fan and shop vac, which were covered in oil when I opened the box. When they delivered my goods to our new home, the driver and crew could not stop talking about what a poor job of packing and loading the team did, and how I needed to file a claim immediately because our stuff was trashed. The claim was easy enough to file, once I figured out exactly which company name I had to file it with. It took a couple weeks to get someone out to inspect the damaged items and verify the stuff we said was missing was actually missing, and so far a couple more weeks have gone by with no word from the claims dept. as to when we will see resolution. My adjuster had a family emergency and will be out until next week, which is understandable.; frustrating, but understandable. I would truly not recommend the company for a long-distance move. I am beyond disappointed and ultimately, just cannot wait for this whole thing to be over.
