  "If you are a senior and are thinking of using North American Van Lines BEWARE! We moved the contents of our home 1,000 miles away (23,000 lbs) at a cost of $25,000. We told the initial salesman it needed to go to a storage unit-4 to be exact- until we found a home which was several months later. When we had the contents moved into our home we used same man/company North American used to unload. Upon unloading and unboxing we saw several damaged items as well as a few missing items. I was told by our move coordinator to fill out spreadsheet and include descriptions and pictures which I did. They sent out an appraiser to our home to review the items. Soon afterward, North American sent a curt email stating that since items were put in storage unit, they would not reimburse anything stating their policy. Why would the salesman not mention that policy when he was quoting this move and also why did the North American representative not state this before having me spend time documenting and taking pictures only to deny it again? And also why would they send an adjuster to our home? Poor communication from start to finish. How would we have been able to unwrap/unpack all furniture and boxes in the 4 storage units at the time they were delivered. LOOK FOR OTHER MOVING COMPANIES!!!"
