  If I could give negative stars I would! We’re a military family that has moved from Coast to coast. We called zippy shell and and gave them our current and new address, they acted like it was no problem to move us. Long story short we’ve been at our location for over a week and won’t be getting our stuff for a whole month! We didn’t hear of this delay untill the pods were are 3 days late from the delivery date! On top of that they KEEP CHARGING US! Random “accidental” charges! The last one I called a week ago and they said it would be reimbursed.. still hasn’t been! I’ve asked to talk to management 5 times.. they said they filled out a form 12 and the managers would be calling me within 2 days.. never herd from them! The escalation team won’t even talk to me anymore when I request it from one of the workers. This has been the worst experience ever! The worst is they’re not doing anything to fix it! Being military and moving is not easy.. but to have my children sit in an empty house for over a month is the absolute worst! Lastly military families.. they won’t give us our weight tickets!

  Zero Stars. Summary: 1. They forget to add-on charges that you had already agreed to upfront so you initial invoice looks low and they never produce an itemized copy for you to cross check 2. They hold your items hostage by threatening to unload everything in the middle of loading if you don’t give them $550 extra to finish the task you already paid thousands for (most stressful thing mid-move) 3. They lie about times they arrive and leave to charge you extra fees 4. They lie about the distances they have to walk between your door and the moving truck to charge you extra fees 5. They kept our items hostage in storage longer than we had discussed and we just had to wait on pins and needles for our entire home to be delivered safe and sound. Final unloading went smooth at least, .5 stars. Customer service was initially great... Should have checked the BBB rating though, in DC it's an F. DC sent me the Zippy Tampa Yelp review instead of their own which is deceiving. Pretty sure it's a franchise and that's why everyone's experience is polarizing. Details: +Claimed they waited an hour and tried to charge me an abort fee $150 and reschedule but I was standing outside and saw them when they arrived...funny thing is they were on time! Representative actually said the salesperson forgot to add $150 for having an extra stop before heading to storage unit but acknowledged it was in the notes... how do you forget to add a sale you made as a salesperson? Anyway, called in the middle of my move and paid it since the movers refused to continue moving without the extra charge. +Charged me for a 6.5 hours move when it was 2.5 hours... this overtime I did not have costs $250 +Charged me for two different long carry charges cause I had 2 stops totaling $150, long carry is anything over 70 ft. not including stairs or an elevator (worth noting because those are 2 other separate charges if you have them) and for the record, my door to door was less than 70 ft. and therefore this charge is ridiculous. They are just flat out lying. +At the end of my move I didn't feel comfortable signing off on the $550 so I called Zippy to dispute the charges on the spot and I was assured none would incur and in order to continue the loading and ultimately dismiss the movers I was told by Zippy customer care to sign and just to make notes on the agreement altering the terms in which I was signing and then I took a picture. Even though I have proof the movers altered my agreement again after I signed the document, I can't get anyone to help me at Zippy’s customer care. One woman said "I signed my rights away." This is a moving and storage company... pretty sure I didn't sign my rights away, but they made me feel that way: defeated.

  The business is franchise based so in our experience, on the east coast they do not have set delivery times, but on the west coast they do. If you feel like you're getting the run around, verify where your container/s are located, if they are in Sterling, VA call them directly, they will take care of you. They answered my questions with how they operate and lessened my stress more than contacting this branch had all day. We kept being told it will be "delivered at 2pm" and what they meant was it will be delivered after 2pm and before 8pm. However Daniel who works here is fantastic, I know he put in all the effort he could for me.
