  Ramar recently moved us from Frederick, Maryland to Raleigh, NC. Erik was our contact and he was amazing! He was extremely professional and communicated often to insure that all was going well. Our driver, Anita Eyler, was exceptional and went “above and beyond” to make our move go smoothly. Ramar packed and delivered our household goods in a timely manner. I would give the packers, movers, driver, and office staff 5 stars and highly recommend their company if you need help with a move!

  We packed our own goods and had a quote for the exact volume needed on the truck. The people who made the estimate were great to work with. The people who put our goods on a panel truck because the semi trailer wouldn't fit in the development were great to work with. We were told we would have the ability to track our shipment from Virginia to Oregon. That never happened. After missing the entire delivery window the moving company told us our shipment was delayed another week. When it did arrive, many of our boxes were damaged and thirty were missing. Upon investigating we discovered that our wardrobe boxes were opened at the transit hub and stuffed with thirty smaller boxes. Furniture was damaged and when I pointed this out to the team shifting the furniture off the truck the driver attempted to repair our furniture with super glue, without asking for our permission. All of this was brought up in the claim and the company pushed back against all of it, even saying that we had asked the driver to repair our furniture. This company uses both Mayflower (the company we requested the quote from) and United (the truck it was delivered in). If this is how these brands care to be represented, they will not have my business again.

  Joseph, we know our customers value their possessions and we try our best to prevent damages. We regret that your claim was not settled to your satisfaction. We understand you spoke to the local agent and our corporate Claims department about the specifics of your claim in 2017 and again in 2018. There are very specific claims processing parameters for Packed by Owner (PBO) boxes. When you pack your own boxes, the van operator has no knowledge of the contents, the condition of the contents prior to the move, or the method of packing. As such, we are not able to assume liability for damaged contents without evidence of mishandling the boxes. As a customer service gesture to you, we did compensate you for the PBO’s you claimed. We are sorry to hear that our services did not meet your expectations. Comments like yours allow us to continue improving for future moves. Thank you for your time.

  We had some furniture that needed to be sent from Maryland to Texas and I was not going to be able to have face to face contact with anyone on the Maryland end. Ramar, and specifically Eric at Ramar, was recommended to us and it was a great choice. Eric dealt with me over the phone and via e-mail, answered all my questions promptly, and we arranged the estimate and the entire move from thousands of miles away. The furniture arrived in great condition, on the day they said it would arrive. I don't make top recommendations very often, but Ramar deserves all the accolades.
