Where to start. Around Oct-November of 2021, our neighbors apartments were burned down/flooded. We reached out to let the property manager aware and we received an inspection months later. The concern of what sort of internal damage could have taken place was not considered an urgent matter to this company. Not an offer to reduce the rent, switch residences due to the obvious construction that would take place, NOTHING. Fast forward to today. We are preparing to move out of the unit within the next two months, as most can imagine, hearing construction and having your parking spots taken are not to be desired for another year. We are not provided with scheduling for strangers to come and view the property. WE ARE TOLD that random people will be entering OUR (2 months left on the lease) residence with less than 24 hours notice. The invasion of privacy is appalling, especially considering that there are two pets on site. The absolute least that could have been done would be to call to see when we are available to remove the pets and clean up for showings. This practice is absolutely unacceptable and I would not wish this stressful experience on anyone. To add insult to injury, I come home today to find AN OPEN LOCKBOX ON MY FRONT DOOR. Anyone could have entered my home while I was at work for 10 hours. This experience has been absolutely soul crushing and I will seek answers for this GROSS MISCONDUCT. To their credit, I received a call from the office at Carolina Moves to address these issues, but it will take more than apologies to rectify this ridiculous invasion of privacy in the residence that I AM STILL PAYING FOR! THIS IDIOCY IS OUTRAGEOUS!!!!

Where to start.. I don’t have time to leave overly long reviews (proceeds to leave one anyways) but I will say, if you want to rent one of their properties, be sure to have extensive photo proof and videos of the property prior to moving in. They tried to charge me from my $1550 security deposit $970 for damages to the home that were there prior to my moving in, as well as touch ups which they NEVER provided me, that already needed touching up. Thankfully I had picture proof so I was able to fight them on it, but ultimately charged me $200 for cleaning, though I cleaned the house and left minimal dirt (I used to get that same house cleaned for 4 hours at $85 tops) and $450 for the removal of 3 fake wooden beams in the garage which I was told by a lawyer isn’t even necessarily allowed, no to mention when I moved in there were 2-3 metal shelves in the unit so I technically returned it to them in the same state I received it. Thankfully I have time stamped and dated proof but overall they’re still making out with about $600-$700 worth of my deposit for absolutely nothing. Deceitful crooks. They even tried to act like they were doing me a favor. Attaching photos below of some of the things they are trying to charge me for that I thankfully had proof of (this is the state in which I received the property). Not to mention, they had me buy filters for when I first moved in for the refrigerator which came out to about $24 which was below their $25 limit, and they only refunded $8 worth of it. I had to have people coming in and out nonstop for the first month to clean, replace bulbs, fix broken things, remove pieces of furniture that were not mine etc. Never want to deal with this company again. I see now how they make their money. I then send an email asking for an amended itemization and I get the response of “please send me your forwarding address. I am sending it out today.” I almost rated them 2 stars but the lack of professionalism and utter disregard for people in general is disgusting.
Response from the owner
Nani, thank you for your review. As an Agent of the Landlord we are required to resolve the security deposit and charge when necessary for associated items. Carolina Moves does provide a detailed move in/out report in order to help in resolving these matters, and also a security deposit dispute process. We wish you well in your new home!

Beware of this company. I am convinced they are purposely scamming people out of money. You are asked to apply and to send in $50 for each adult in the household. That’s all well and good but they don’t tell you that 20 or more other people have already applied for the house as well. Your chances of getting the house are very low with that many people applying. You’d have to be the very first family to apply. They leave the houses marked as available and continue to take peoples application fees. Yes you can transfer to another house but if only 1 or 2 other houses are available all of those people are also trying to transfer to the available houses. So in turn they keep your money because there aren’t enough houses for all the people who have applied. They are taking advantage of how many people are looking for rentals right now and raking in all that money from all the people who apply at $50 per person!!!
